Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Beginning in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American businesses and families saved $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. Every Pella® Product meets or exceeds ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. What does this mean for you? Not only might your notice a drop to your heating and cooling bill, you can help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are specifically designed and custom-made for your home, meaning no two projects are identical. Our large variety of products make it hard to discuss pricing without first understanding your needs, wants and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it helpful to send out a Pella sales representative who will give you a quoted project price upon seeing the project site itself. To expedite the process, your Pella® sales representative is equipped with a computer and a portable printer so that they’ll have all the quote information you’ll need—just as soon as the sales representative has a chance to consider the requirements of the project and matches them with your vision.

In addition to offering a large assortment of high-quality products to select from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you fantastic window and door products at affordable prices, giving you a chance to make the upgrades you want to while building great value into your San Antonio area home all the while.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We advise that you use a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning mix or use an ammonia free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. You can also make your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Apply the solution to a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not recommend glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based as they have a tendency to form streaks or create a film that draws moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses contract installers who are certified to install Pella products. We require them to complete a thorough set of training courses so that your windows and doors are installed properly and meet Pella’s strict warranty criteria. We find the best San Antonio-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Before we hire anyone, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully covered by liability and workers compensation insurance. Aside from Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Your local Pella branch provides services and support that “big box” stores can’t provide. Our staff is made up of professionals whose expertise is in selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Having a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and quality installers means that your renovation will have the strength of our whole team. We like to use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. Simply contact our office, your sales representative, or our project manager with any questions or concerns you may have and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are many reasons why San Antonio homeowners choose Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Pella was founded in 1925 and has remained privately-held the entire time. All of our high quality windows and doors are manufactured with care and serviced by Pella’s professional Direct Sales Network. Unlike many of our competitors who sell exclusively through third-party channels, Pella has dedicated replacement window and doors showrooms across the United States and Canada. This unique way of conducting business gives Pella clients in San Antonio a warm, personal experience with the support of a local to San Antonio, Pella-certified team. Whether you are considering the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a top quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
